Jennifer “Jeni” Harter in the Founder/Owner of Rising Lotus Defense Academy. As a Trauma Survivor Jeni brings with her a sense of understanding, compassion and a natural ability to inspire others to grow, heal and prevent. Her profound passion in Empowerment Self Defense is deeply rooted in using her past traumas in a positive means to help others who have or may experience trauma in their lifetime. Jeni spent 20+ years of her adult life as a Firefighter and EMT devoting much of her spare time helping others in their greatest time of need. Currently she works full time as the Operations Manager and Recovery Agent for a large Repossession Agency in New York State. Jeni brings experience, training and understanding of individual strengths into Empowerment Self Defense.

Jeni has two children ages 14 and 21 and is still teaching her “grown” kids the morals and values which she lives by of always being kind, cordial and respectful of not just others but of themselves as well. We cannot change the world but we can change how we react to it and demonstrate positivity and encouragement for all.
